Levofloxacin is a third generation antibiotic. It is twice as active as it’s isomer ofloxacin, effective against number of Gram- positive, Gram- negative and specifically effective against the organisms that cause atypical pneumonia. levofloxacin is one of the so called respiratory. Levofloxacin is to be considered a drug of last resort when all other antibiotics have failed.Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and corticosteroids enhance the toxicity .
